GREENVILLE — The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing back Michael Angelo Caruso for the third time on Sept. 20.
Caruso’s seminar is titled “The Awesome Power of Story: How to Sell, Lead and Motivate Almost Anyone.”
“Everything is a presentation,” Caruso said. “(The seminar) helps sharpen presentation skills.”
He shows how to add storytelling to a presentation instead of just bullet points and added it helps engage the audience.
Chamber Executive Director Candy Kerschen said the chamber tries to bring different speakers to the area.
The first time it brought Caruso, Kerschen said the chamber received such a great response they brought him back again. When he came a second time, Kerschen said, the chamber had another great response.
“He knows his material and delivers it in a manner that entertains,” Kerschen said.
Anyone who works in sales, customers service, supervisory jobs or are committee leaders are encouraged to attend the seminar, Kerschen said.
“Every single thing you do has to engage listeners,” she said.
Caruso said a person needs to engage their listeners with the right side of the brain, which he explained as more touchy-feely and emotional based.
“Anyone can use it, from managers to politicians,” Caruso said. “It’s something you can take back to the office and home as well.”
The seminar will take place from 9 a.m. until noon Sept. 20 at Montcalm Community College’s Michigan Technical Education Center (M-TEC) at 1325 Yellow Jacket Drive. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The price for chamber members and their guests is $30 for the first attendee and $20 for additional attendees.
For nonchamber members, the cost is $45 for the first attendee and $35 for additional attendees.
“I think it is important for the business community to make (themselves) better at what you do every day,” Kerschen said.
Caruso said he has developed friendships with the people he has met in Greenville.
“I can’t wait to see everyone,” Caruso said.
