STANTON — A local attorney has been named a “Rising Star” in the criminal defense field.
Keeley Heath, 30, received the award from Super Lawyers magazine. The honors were recently published as a special insert in the New York Times.
Candidates must be 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less to be eligible for the honors. Heath was nominated by other attorneys, although she doesn’t know who.
Heath practices law in Stanton. She has been practicing for six years.
“I am extremely honored to be nominated as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers,” she said. “I became aware of the Super Lawyers magazine awards when I first began practicing and never imagined at that time that I would reach that level of recognition in this field. I am very proud of the work that I do as a criminal defense attorney and I plan to continue to fight for the rights of those who stand accused.”
Super Lawyers magazine is published in 50 states and reaches more than 13 million readers, according to its website, www.superlawyers.com.
