The Carson City-Crystal Eagles football team displayed a lot of heart and fight in a comeback that fell short and left them looking for its first win of the season.

The Carson City-Crystal football team has had just one winning record in the past 10 years. That was a 5-4 mark in 2004. Their last postseason appearance was in 1999.

Eagles’ second year coach Jason Gray expects to change all that this season. In his first year, Gray’s Eagles improved from 1-8 in 2009 to 3-6 last year.

Carson City-Crystal’s volleyball team is a good team, if you ask Fulton coach Tracy Beadlescomb.

Four schools still have a chance to earn a guaranteed spot among the 256 football teams in the Michigan High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) playoffs, that begin Oct. 28. Two more have to win out to finish the year 5-4, which would give them a very slim chance of making the postseason.
