The man shot at Flat River Inn & Suites more than two weeks ago remains in a coma at an undisclosed hospital. An unknown assailant shot Kenneth Neal multiple times in the chest, abdomen and legs at the motel on Hillcrest Street around 12:25 a.m. Nov. 12. The suspect allegedly came to the door and fired several shots at Neal.

GREENVILLE — Police have not yet released any information about a possible motive or whether the shooter knew the victim of Saturday’s violent outburst in Greenville.

Several people called Montcalm County Central Dispatch around 12:25 a.m. today after hearing shots fired in a room at the motel, located on Hillcrest Street just north of Washington Street (M-57).

A Fenwick man was sentenced to probation, community service and restitution Thursday for shooting his neighbor’s dog.
