GREENVILLE — The Mobil gas station’s EZ Mart convenience store in Greenville was broken into and robbed late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
According to lead clerk Mary Mangus, the break-in at 115 E. Washington St. (M-57) occurred between 11 p.m. Tuesday and 4 a.m. Wednesday, when the store was closed.
Someone threw a brick through the store’s window, entered through the window and stole up to 50 packages of cigarettes.
“They took a good portion of our cigarettes,” Mangus said of the thieves.

The Greenville Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident. Interim Director Gary Valentine said a complete police report is not yet available.
Mangus said a boot print was left on a piece of glass. She said police took the store’s surveillance video.
“If they’re gonna rob us, I’m glad they didn’t use a gun,” Mangus said.
The Handy Market in Greenville was broken into in a similar fashion last week. Thieves smashed the front glass door and stole energy pills and synthetic marijuana.
