Only minor damage sustained in Home Township fire

HOME TOWNSHIP — The Home Township Fire Department responded to a structure fire that left only minor damages to the porch.

Fire Chief Randy Linton said the department responded at about 3:15 p.m. to 9300 N. Peoples Road in Home Township.

The owner had a woodpile on their porch that caught fire after ashes had landed on it.

“There were only minor damages to the deck,” Linton said.

A passerby noticed the fire and had kicked most of it off the porch before the department arrived.

Fire claims Richland Township farmhouse

A farmhouse on the 10000 block of Waldron Road was consumed by fire shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday night. Richland Township Fire Chief Cal Callison said the house is a total loss. Callison there was nothing firefighters could have done to save the structure.
