No one injured in attic fire

CATO TOWNSHIP - Firefighters responded to an attic fire at the home of JoAnn Bupp at 6730 W. Schmeid Road north of Lakeview at 2:59 p.m. Thursday.

The Lakeview District Fire Department requested Maple Valley Township Fire Department for mutual aid.

No one was injured in the fire, which was started by a faulty electrical wire.

Pellet stove causes Lakeview house fire

A Lakeview-area home was severely damaged in a Saturday morning fire caused by a pellet stove. The Lakeview District Fire Department responded to a reported deck fire at 11494 Eisenhower Road at 7:45 a.m.

Cause of Lakeview barn fire remains a mystery

A Lakeview barn fire’s origin remains unknown more than three weeks after the blaze. A century-old barn burned to the ground the night of Nov. 22 behind the home of Robert and Ayla Noah at 9648 N. Satterlee Road just north of M-46.

Winfield Township retains fire chief, appoints assistant

Amble Fire Chief Bill Knapp is moving out of Winfield Township and offered to resign his post. But the Winfield Township Board voted 3-0 earlier this month to retain Knapp as head of the fire department.
