5 injured in 3-vehicle accident on M-66

SIDNEY TOWNSHIP —  Five people were injured in a three-car accident this morning on M-66 near Holland Lake Road.
The Michigan State Police Lakeview Post responded to the accident at about 7:30 a.m.
A 32-year-old Sheridan woman was driving a 1996 GMC Yukon was traveling southbound on M-66 when she struck a 2001 Chevrolet Impala turning left into a private drive. A 32-year-old Greenville woman was driving the Impala. Her 2-year-old son was a passenger.
The Impala was pushed into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by a 33-year-old woman from Ionia. The Ionia woman’s two daughters, ages 12 and 9, were passengers.
Five of the six people were transported to Sheridan Community Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The Michigan State Police were assisted by the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, the Sheridan Community Fire Department and Montcalm County Rescue personnel.
