GREENVILLE — After being offered the city manager position in Wayland, Greenville Assistant City Manager Cameron Van Wyngarden turned down the job.
He said after careful consideration and sleepless nights, he decided to decline the offer he received.
“Ultimately, I didn’t think the situation in Wayland was a good fit for me, but my current position in Greenville made it that much easier to turn it down,” Van Wyngarden said. “I enjoy my work in Greenville and I enjoy the people I work with.”
Van Wyngarden said the assistant city manager position in Greenville has been a successful launching pad for many in the past, including current managers in Fremont, Rockford, Saline and Greenville.
“I probably won’t be in Greenville forever, but I will certainly enjoy the time I spend in this community,” Van Wyngarden said.
