MORLEY — Two people were arrested on Tuesday on felony charges related to the sale of heroin in the Morley area.
Tiffany Marie Bergstrom and Carl Lean Schmitt were both arrested for delivery of heroin, possession with intent to deliver heroin as well as conspiracy to deliver heroin.
These charges resulted from the Central Michigan Enforcement Team’s (CMET) investigation into heroin trafficking in Mescosta County.
Both Bergstrom and Schmitt were arraigned in the 77th district court on Wednesday.
CMET has experienced an increase in abuse of heroin in all four counties served by CMET.
They were assisted at the scene by the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department and troopers and a K-9 from the Michigan State Police Post in Mount Pleasant.
