GREENVILLE — A meet and greet is planned for Friday to welcome the new director of the Spectrum Health United Memorial Foundation.

From 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the United Hospital conference room, the community will be able to engage in conversation at a meet and greet with newly named director Shelly Westbrook.

“It’s an opportunity for the community to meet (Westbrook) and to have a face with the name,” said Jennifer DenOuden, director of marketing and communications.

Not only was Westbrook born and raised in Greenville, she served in various roles within the Spectrum Health Foundation from 1998 through 2003.

Her most recent role was senior director of Development for Metro Health Hospital Foundation.
“I’m coming back home,” Westbrook said.

She has 14 years of experience in development, including expertise in major gift fundraising, capital campaigns, corporate and foundation relations, grant writing, volunteer and staff management and strategic planning.

During the meet and greet, Westbrook hopes to shed light on philanthropic efforts and how donors and philanthropy have effected the hospitals.

“I look forward to meeting community members, board members and the donors,” Westbrook said.
