CARSON CITY — Despite a lack of wins, Central Michigan Athletic Conference coaches thought enough of three Carson City-Crystal boys basketball players to make them all-conference.
Seniors Maxxton Jolls and Isaac Torres and junior Brann Schmitt were named to the all-conference team.
Jolls was second-team all-CMAC after a season in which he has 12 points and six rebounds a game.
“Maxx was our ‘do everything’ guy this season,” CC-Crystal coach Ryan Fritz said. “He led us in scoring, assists and steals and was second in rebounding and blocked shots.”
Torres was put on the honorable mention list. He averaged six points a game and was second on the Eagles in steals.
“He was our defensive stopper, the kid we would put on the other team’s best play and ask to shut him down,” Fritz said. “He did a great job for us on the defensive end of the floor.”
Schmitt was also an honorable mention honoree. He averaged 9.1 points, 7.7 rebounds per game and led the team in blocked shots with 20.
“Brann was a dominating force for us in the paint having multiple double-double games,” Fritz said.
Carson City-Crystal was 10-11 overall this season.
