GREENVILLE — The Greenville Yellow Jackets girls track team opened its season with a pair of non conference wins on Monday at Yellow Jacket Stadium.
Greenville defeated Kenowa Hills and Cedar Springs. All three teams ran together and the times were used for two separate scores.
The Yellow Jackets defeated Kenowa Hills 90-47.
Senior Bailey Parmelee led the way with three victories. She won the 800-meter run (2:23.55), 1,600 run (5:16.23) and the 3,200 run (11:26.09).
Rosalyn Wyse and Ally Berry each won two events.
Wyse tied for first in the high jump at 4-foot-10 and won the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.76. Berry won both the 100 (13.50) and 200 dashes (28.40).
Leah Somerfield (discus, 86-8), Taylor Zimmer (shot put, 30-0 1/2), Taylor Bretzke (long jump, 14-7) and Audrey Wyse (400 dash, 1:04.16) each won one event.
The Yellow Jackets won the 400, 800 and 1,600 relays.
Greenville defeated Cedar Springs 84-53.
Audrey Wyse captured three wins against the Red Hawks in the 400 dash, 100 hurdles (17.49) and tied for first in the pole vault (7-6).
Rosalyn Wyse was first in the high jump and 300 hurdles while Berry again won both the 100 and 200 sprints.
Katie Dunham tied for first in the pole vault with Greenville teammate A. Wyse at 7-6.
Parmelee won the 800 run, but finished behind Kenzie and Katie Weiler in the 1,600 run and Kenzie Weiler in the 3,200 run.
Leah Somerfield (discus) and Taylor Zimmer (shot put) also won. Greenville won the 400, 800 and 1,600 relays.
The Yellow Jackets are now 2-0 overall and will host East Grand Rapids next on April 11.
