2 men injured in high-speed accident
MORTON TOWNSHIP — Two men were injured after their car crashed into a tree at a high rate of speed this morning.
Mecosta County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident at 9:05 a.m. on 5 Mile Road near 120th Avenue.
Deputies found that a car traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed lost control on a curve and slid off the roadway into a tree.
The driver of the vehicle, Michael Leonard, 22, of Lakeview, was transported by Mecosta County Emergency Medical Services to Spectrum Health Kelesy Hospital in Lakeview.
A passenger of the vehicle, Ross Daniels, 23, of Three Rivers, was transported to a Grand Rapids hospital by AeroMed.
Both men are believed to have non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies were assisted by Morley and Morton Township Fire and Rescue.
