No students on school bus that crashed in Greenville

GREENVILLE — No students were on a Montcalm Area Intermediate School District (MAISD) bus that crashed in Greenville Friday afternoon.

The MAISD bus was traveling southbound on Lafayette street (M-91) when it slid through a red light at the intersection of Lafayette and Van Deinse streets and collided with a Dodge Ram 2500.

“No students were on the bus,” said Sgt. Gary Valentine of the Greenville Department of Public Safety.

The bus driver was being evaluated on scene by the Montcalm County Advance Life emergency medical technicians.

The driver of the truck did not seek medical attention at the scene.

Valentine said the scene is under investigation by the Greenville Department of Public Safety.

Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies were also at the scene.
