GREENVILLE — A 7-year-old girl suffered minor injuries Monday afternoon after coming in contact with a car at the intersection of Lafayette and Oak streets.
The Greenville Department of Public Safety responded to a pedestrian versus car accident around 4:25 p.m. where they found the girl in good condition with a minor complaint of an injured foot.
The investigation revealed the girl was riding her bicycle eastbound on the sidewalk of Oak Street and was unable to stop before she entered onto Lafayette Street.
As a vehicle was traveling southbound on Lafayette Street, the girl struck the side of the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and was not at fault.
Medical personnel along with the girl’s father were present at the scene, however no further medical treatment was required and she was sent home with her father.
The Greenville Department of Public Safety reminds all bicyclists to wear the proper safety equipment and to ride with caution.
