Man injured in motorcycle accident on M-91
EUREKA TOWNSHIP — A man was injured while riding his motorcycle Friday afternoon.
Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a personal injury accident involving a car and a motorcycle on M-91 north of Jenks Road at 5:02 p.m.
Both vehicles were traveling southbound when Aleksander Shotko, 20, was stopped for traffic ahead of him.
Jeremy Drent, 29, was driving his motorcycle a few cars behind Shotko when another vehicle traveling ahead of the motorcycle swerved to avoid stopped traffic. Drent’s motorcycle rear-ended one of the stopped cars.
Drent was not wearing a helmet and suffered non life-threatening facial and leg injuries. He was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids where he was treated.
Shotko was not injured.
Deputies do not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Montcalm County Emergency Services and Rescue and the Greenville Department of Public Safety.
M-91 was shut down for approximately one hour.
