Greenville man arrested after falling asleep in car while drunk
GREENVILLE— A Greenville man was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Greenville Department of Public Safety officers responded to the 800 block of Clay Street around 2 a.m.
Officers found Michael Giacoletti, 43, sleeping behind the wheel of a car, which was parked in a parking lot.
Officers woke Giacoletti and detected the odor of alcohol on him and in the car.
After administering several sobriety tests, police arrested Giacoletti for operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Police say Giacoletti has prior alcohol-related convictions and his driver’s license is currently under suspension.
The Montcalm County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant charging Giacoletti with driving with a suspended license second offense — a misdemeanor — and operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated third offense — a felony.
Giacoletti is currently being held in the Montcalm County Jail in Stanton.
