PEWAMO— The Central Michigan Enforcement Team (CMET) assisted the Michigan State Police Lakeview Post with an investigation into a methamphetamine lab located in Pewamo.
Troopers were acting on a tip they had received regarding the manufacture of meth at the home. Investigators were able to observe items typically used in the production of meth, after which they contacted CMET. Further investigation revealed meth lab components and hazardous meth production by-products in a shed behind the home.
Police arrested Raymond Eller of Ionia at the scene.
Eller was arraigned Tuesday in 64A District Court in Ionia. He is charged with multiple felonies, including two counts of operating/maintaining a meth lab and maintaining a drug house.
Also assisting in the investigation were the Ionia County Sheriff’s Department, Child Protective Services and the Ionia County Health Department.
CMET is a multi-jurisdictional task force comprised of detectives from the Ionia County Sheriff’s Department, Big Rapids Department of Public Safety, Montcalm County Sheriff’s Department, Newaygo County Sheriff’s Department, Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department and Michigan State Police.
This is the 11th meth lab bust CMET has made this year in Ionia County.
