BUSHNELL TOWNSHIP — A 20-month-old boy was found unresponsive in a pond Saturday and is currently listed in serious condition.

Michigan State Police Lakeview Post Trooper Patrick Agema responded to the 9100 block of Tessie Court in Bushnell Township.

Konnor Baker was outside with a family member and went missing for a short time. He was found shortly later in a nearby pond, completely unresponsive.

A neighbor, Raymond Case, performed CPR until emergency responders arrived.

Agema arrived with Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services. A Montcalm County paramedic took Konnor to the ambulance to attempt resuscitation. The paramedic was unable to find a pulse and Konnor was unresponsive to any stimulus.

Konnor was transported by Montcalm County EMS to Sheridan Community Hospital, where resuscitation efforts continued. Konnor’s heart restarted and he began to breath on his own.

Konnor was airlifted to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, where he is listed in serious condition.

No foul play is suspected in the incident.
