Greenville man charged with breaking into 11 vehicles and 4 buildings, stealing 2 vehicles

FAIRPLAINS TOWNSHIP— A Greenville man was arrested Sunday after allegedly breaking into and stealing from 11 vehicles and four buildings, plus stealing two vehicles.

Jacob Ross, 34, has been arraigned in 64B District Court in Stanton and is currently lodged in the Montcalm County Jail in Stanton.

Michigan State Police Lakeview Post Trooper Patrick Agema responded to a breaking and entering in progress in the 400 block of County Farm Road in Fairplains Township. Trooper Edward Brinkman also assisted.

Troopers located several items outside a shed, which had allegedly been moved by Ross. Witnesses reported seeing Ross flee from the area on foot with stolen items.

A neighbor of the 911 caller reported hearing noise inside their garage. Troopers responded and located Ross, who was found to have stolen property.

Ross was arrested and a search located stolen property from 11 different vehicles and four separate buildings.

Troopers were assisted by the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, which located and recovered two vehicles allegedly stolen by Ross.
