CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP — The lone applicant for the position of Crystal Township Wastewater Facility administrator has officially been handed the job.
Scott Brundage was unanimously hired by the Crystal Township Board at Wednesday night’s meeting.
Board members discussed having Brundage come in for an official interview, but after a brief discussion it was determined he was qualified and an interview was not necessary.
Crystal Township Clerk Bob Naumann, who has served as the interim wastewater facility administrator, said Brundage’s experiences as assistant fire chief with the Crystal Township Fire Department helped in determining his qualifications.
“He fills in for (Fire Chief) Lonnie Fitzpatrick when he’s not here,” Naumann said. “In my dealings with Scott, when he’s filling in for Lonnie and he comes in and fills me in on what’s happening, he’s been very thorough. He has the hands-on mechanical ability that would be necessary. He has a lot of experience dealing with people as a supervisor. I think he’s a good candidate.”
Brundage will work four hours a week with an annual salary of $4,000 and will begin on July 1.
“I’m semi-retired and it gives me a way to give back to the community,” Brundage said. “I look forward to working toward helping the community.”
The positions of office specialist and assistant operator at the wastewater facility are still vacant, but Naumann said he is still drafting the official resolution for those positions.
