High-speed motorcycle chase ends with multiple arrests

FERRIS TOWNSHIP — Two motorcyclists are in custody and a third is expecting charges after eluding officers during a high-speed chase after a traffic stop Friday evening.

Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on three motorcyclists traveling westbound on Stanton Road from Waldron Road at 11:48 p.m.

All three motorcycles were traveling upwards of 97 mph and refused to stop.

Two of the motorcyclists were eventually pulled over on Pine Grove Road south of Stanton Road and were taken into custody.

They have been charged with fleeing and eluding, operating while intoxicated and having outstanding warrants.

The third suspect continued to flee westbound on Stanton Road.

Deputies have identified the third motorcyclist and are expecting charges.

The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
