An 18-year-old Greenville man was arrested early Monday morning after being denied access to the Reno Bar. A Greenville Department of Public Safety officer was on patrol around 12:30 a.m. when he observed two people engaged in a verbal altercation while standing in front of the Reno Bar at 201 S. Lafayette St.

A Greenville High School student was transported to the hospital Thursday morning after police discovered he had become ill smoking marijuana laced with incense. Greenville Department of Public Safety officers discovered at 7:45 a.m. that a 15-year-old student had been smoking marijuana laced with either “K2” or “Spice,” which are both synthetic drugs, prior to reporting to school.

Police are blaming alcohol and icy roads for an early Thanksgiving Day accident that left a man injured. Chadwick Jones, 19, of Gowen, was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue westbound on Harlow Road when he lost control near West County Line Road and hit a tree on the north side of the road around 1:40 a.m., according to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office.

A man is in custody for the alleged armed robbery of the Huntington Bank in Greenville last November. FBI Agent John King confirmed that Reuben Olson III, 22, was in custody for the crime. Olson has not yet been arraigned. “The arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation between the FBI, the Greenville Department of Public Safety and the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office,” said King from his Grand Rapids office.
