Ya gotta love the guy … that would be the black bear that posed for a picture beside a tree in north Greenville, and went on to be spotted and reported in other locations in West Michigan.
We’d like to believe he’d heard that Greenville was a pretty nice community, and thought he could probably get some good food. From later reports, he seemed to be covering a lot of territory … and perhaps he realized that this was primarily Lion territory; and he’d have to move on if he aspired to be a Chicago Bear.

While the majority of black bears undoubtedly eschew exotic beverages, horseracing’s latest celebrity, Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I’ll Have Another, will indeed have another of whatever he was having, as he attempts to be American horseracing’s first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed did it in 1978.
He has to win the Belmont Stakes, Saturday, June 9. He’ll be running a mile and a half, and his trademark style is hanging behind the leader and exploding for a furious winning finish.
Even if you’re not a horseracing fan, this will be an event worth watching.

Sticking with the theme of furry and hairy friends, if you are a pet lover, you shouldn’t miss the 21st annual Town and Country Animal Clinic’s PETFEST open house.
It’s this Thursday on M-91 just south of Greenville’s city limits at the curve on the east side of the road. There will be a petting zoo, ice cream, hot dogs, learning the latest in care for your pets and camel rides! Don’t miss it!
