JUST IN: 16-year-old missing from Clifford Lake
GREENVILLE – After a 16-year-old boy did not return home Friday night, emergency crews began to search Clifford Lake and the surrounding areas.
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, Stanton Community Fire Department and Emergency Medical Crews responded to Clifford Lake in search of the boy just after 10 p.m. Friday.
“At this point we do not know where he is,” said Sgt. John Hannon. “We are taking all precautions.”
As of 11 p.m., Friday, crews were going door to door on the lake, calling everyone the boy knows and the dive team was searching the lake.
Hannon said they were in the process of finding a helicopter, but because of the holiday it has been difficult to locate one.
“He is a strong swimmer with no known problems,” Hannon said. “That’s why we are so confused. We just don’t know where he is.”
