Man arrested after wielding knife, handgun
SIDNEY TOWNSHIP — A Sidney Township man is in custody after he assaulted another individual with a knife and handgun Sunday morning.
Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 39-year-old man after he waved a knife and pointed a gun at the other individual.
Deputies responded to the corner of Sidney and Derby roads at 2:16 a.m. on a call of a disturbance.
When deputies arrived, the suspect was still at the scene.
Deputies recovered knives and a handgun before taking the suspect into custody.
The man has been charged with assault with a handgun, assault with a knife and using a firearm in the commission of a felony in addition to outstanding warrants he had for his arrest.
He is currently lodged at the Montcalm County Jail.
