GREENVILLE — Spectrum Health United Hospital’s Emergency Department will begin providing patient care services in the newly constructed portions of the Stanley and Blanche Ash Emergency Department.

The move was set to begin at 7 a.m. today and will allow the existing emergency department to begin renovation.

The entire Stanley and Blanche Ash Emergency Department is scheduled for completion in the late fall of 2012.

All emergency patients, walk-in traffic and ambulances will be directed to a new entrance to access services at the hospital because of the move.

This entrance will serve as a temporary access point for walk-in emergency patients until the entire project is complete.

Spectrum Health United Hospital is requesting patients, visitors and ambulances to stick to the following:
• Emergency Patients: Please use the newly marked entrance, located outside of the Stanley and Blanche Ash Emergency Department.  Signage near the hospital will guide emergency patients to parking and the entrance.
• Ambulance Traffic: Please use the newly marked entrance and follow appropriate signage when entering the parking area.
• Hospital Visitors: All individuals visiting the hospital should continue to use the United Hospital Main Entrance.
• Outpatient Services (Lab Services, Diagnostic Imaging Services, Heart and Vascular Center, etc.): All patients seeking outpatient services should continue to use the United Hospital Main Entrance.
