IONIA — An Ionia man, formerly of Greenville, was recently convicted of multiple sex crimes.

Robert Plaster, 37, was convicted by an 8th Judicial Circuit Court jury last Friday of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, two counts of child sexually abusive activity, two counts of using a computer to commit a crime, possession of child sexually abusive activity and selling or furnishing alcohol to a minor.

According to Ionia County Prosecutor Ron Schafer, Plaster purchased alcohol for minors and let them drink it at his home in Ionia Township in July 2011.

Two underage girls got drunk and one began vomiting. Plaster’s teenage son took the girls into a shower where all three began having sex. Plaster used a camera to videotape the action, while encouraging it at the same time.

The three teens went into a bedroom, where Plaster continued to record them on video, as well as sexually molest one of the girls.

Plaster then uploaded the video to his computer and watched it.

He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced at a later date.
