CARSON CITY — At the most recent Carson City Council meeting, the council approved summer shirts for city police officers and a new medication drop box.

“This drop box is from a program that gives citizens a way to dispose of unused medication,” said Carson City Police Chief Bruce Partridge.

Partridge received the drop box from the West Michigan Take Back Meds program.

According to www.wmtakebackmeds.org, the box, which is located inside City Hall, is a secure box for the safe disposal of expired or leftover medicine, including controlled substances.

Since Carson City is participating in the West Michigan Take Back Meds Program, Partridge is accepting unwanted medications through use of the drop box. This also includes medications that are considered controlled substances. A full list of those substances can be found at www.wmtakebackmeds.org online.
