Trio of teens arrested for northeast Montcalm County break-ins

STANTON — Three Gratiot County teenagers have been arrested in connection with multiple break-ins in northeast Montcalm County.

A series of break-ins occurred early the morning of May 30. Victims included Maxfield’s Restaurant north of Edmore, the Farmer in the Dell at Crystal Road and M-46, the Dollar General in Vestaburg and Ferris Church of Christ in Vestaburg.

An 18-year-old Riverdale man, a 17-year-old Riverdale man and a 17-year-old Alma man were all charged with breaking and entering. The trio has also been connected with several break-ins and thefts that occurred in Gratiot and Isabella counties.

The investigation included officers from seven agencies within all three counties.

The trio is being held in the Gratiot County Jail, awaiting transport to Montcalm County for arraignment.
