VESTABURG — The inaugural Vestaburg Community Days is set to bring the community together with fun events for all ages.
Community Days committee member Bonnie Walker aid they wanted to bring something for everyone to do.
“We wanted to get the community, area business and everyone involved,” she said.
Vestaburg use to have Old Timers Day, but has not had that event since the 1980s, she said.
The one-day event is set to start at 7:30 a.m. with a prayer Breakfast at the school commons for at $5 donation.
The money raised from the event will go to Joy Caris, who is fighting Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer.
“Although some events cost money, a lot of the events are free,” Walkers said.
8:30 – 10:30 a.m., 5K Run, at the school’s track, $25 per person.
9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Art show, The Depot, free
11:30 a.m. – noon, Parade, Main street (some streets will be closed)
noon, Car show, Main Street, free
Noon – 4 p.m., Inflatables, fire station (with some at the softball fields), free
1 – 4 p.m., Dunk Tank, balls $1
12:30 – 3 p.m., Pig Roast, first station, $7.50
5 – 6:30 p.m., Bike ride, The Depot
6 – 7 p.m., Picnic, park between Peasley’s and Auto, free.
7:30 – 8 p.m., Musical Program, free
8 – 9:15 p.m., Joy Walk, the track, donations to Joy Caris.
10 p.m. Fireworks, Sports complex.
Kid games, all day, 25 cents per ticked.
“It’s for all ages,” Walker said. “There is something for everybody.”
