GREENVILLE — Full road closures of M-57 will begin on Monday and last until Wednesday night.
Michigan Department of Transportation spokesman John Richard said the full road closure of M-57 will begin at 6 a.m. Monday from Hillcrest Street to the Flat River and last until 8 p.m. Wednesday for a resurfacing project.
“There will be detours (around the the construction),” Richard said.
The detours will include Greenville West Drive, Van Deinse Avenue and Industrial Park Drive.
The whole project will include the resurfacing of 2.3 miles of M-57 from Satterlee Road to east of the Flat River.
Richard said single-lane closures and traffic shifts will take place while completing the rest of the project.
Project Engineer Al Pennington of Moore and Bruggink said roads are resurfaced to improve the quality.
“It improves the longevity of the road,” Pennington said.
The entire project is scheduled to be completed on Aug. 11.

I wonder if the manhole covers will be many inches below road surface when they are done. Dodging manholes is fun
Now. Wouldn’t it have been easier and less of a nusiance if they would have done this the same time they had M-57 down for the tunnel in front of Meijer? They could have done both projects at the same time, and would not have the issue now.
