ROUNDUP: Prep football scores from Thursday, Aug. 30

CC-Crystal 77, Traverse City Christian 0: The Eagles got four touchdowns from Logan Forist, two more from Will Beedy, two more from Drew Hugenot and two more from Arron Haines in a mercy for their first win Thursday night. Robert Failing led CC-Crystal with 96 yards on 10 carries and a touchdown, Forist added 10 carries for 87 yards, amd Beedy had 66 yards on four carries. The Eagles never threw a pass in the entire game. Scott Postema had 13 tackles on defense and Brann Schmitt had four sacks. Record: 1-1. Next game: at home against Crossroads Academy Sept. 7.

Lakeview 30, Holton 22: The Wildcats got three quarterback sneaks from Shawn Linsey in beating the Red Devils Thursday night for their second win. Garrett Cavendish added a score as Lakeview ran up 354 yards of total offense. Jared Taylor had 119 yards rushing followed by Cavendish with 99 on 16 carries. Brad Hamlin led in receptions with three for 53 yards. Corey Hamlin added 12 tackles to the defensive effort. Record: 2-0. Next game: at Newaygo Sept. 7.

Vestaburg 41, Brethren 0: The Wolverines were the second MSAC-South team to shut out their North Division crossover opponent, ripping Brethren on the road Thursday night. Quarterback Austin Myers threw for 160 yards and a touchdown and added a rushing TD to the effort. Keegan Ryckman led the rushing with 10 carries for 124 yards and a score, followed by Austin Blanks with eight carries for 60 yards and a score. Dewayne McKinney recovered a fumble for a touchdown and Christian Benevides added a team-high 12 tackles on the night. Record: 2-0. Next game: at home against Baldwin Sept. 7.

Montabella 41, Onekama 0: The Mustangs also shut out their MSAC-North opponent Thursday, getting single TDs from Derek Martin, Landan Burns, Zack Taubitz, Peter Taylor, Chase Murray and Joey Durham. Quarterback Brady Burggren was 8-of-14 for 149 yards and a touchdown and added six runs for 98 yards to lead Montabella. Martin finished with six carries for 37 yards, and Landan Burns caught one ball for 75 yards and a score to lead the receiving. Record: 1-1. Next game: at home against Manistee Catholic Central Sept. 7.

Belding 63, Lakewood 42: The Redskins earned their first victory of the season in the home opener of Rudness Field. Stats were not made available. Check Saturday’s edition of The Daily News for a complete story. Record: 1-1, 0-0. Next game: at Coopersville Sept. 7.
