SIDNEY — Montcalm Community College (MCC) President Robert C. Ferrentino and Grand Valley State University (GVSU) President Thomas J. Haas signed a transfer agreement on Sept. 6 that will help students who transfer to GVSU complete an associate degree at MCC.

The initiative applies to MCC students who have completed at least 15 credits at MCC, but transferred before earning an associate degree.

“Our partnership with Grand Valley will enable MCC students who transfer prior to earning an associate degree to ultimately gain that credential based on work completed at GVSU,” Ferrentino said. “It offers students a great advantage to acquire needed credentials. We are pleased that Grand Valley is partnering with us to help students achieve their dreams of college completion.”

Haas agreed the agreement is beneficial for students.

“We are excited about this partnership with Montcalm Community College and the value of this agreement for students,” Haas said. “Students who transfer short of receiving their associate degree can receive that credential and can use credits earned at Grand Valley to qualify.”
