Vestaburg 3, Montabella 0: The Mustangs were shut out in an MSAC match by the Wolverines Tuesday. Record: Montabella is 0-12 and 0-2. Next match: Montabella is at home against Evart Thursday.

CC-Crystal 3-1: The Eagles defeated the Ashley Bears in four sets on Tuesday night. The Eagles won  25-18, 21-25, 25-17, 25-23. Jaylin Fisher led Carson City-Crystal with 29 assists and four aces. Tomberlee Smith had 21 digs, Emily Ward 17 kills and Mackenzie Geister nine kills. Next match: at Belding Invitational Saturday.


Greenville 4, Forest Hills Northern 3 (OT): The Yellow Jackets needed the second half of overtime to get the game-winning goal against the Huskies in an O-K Bronze game Tuesday night. Greenville was led by Mark Hebert with two goals and one assist, while single goals came from Michael Krogman and Randy Hebert. Jacket goalkeeper Kyle Smith made eight saves in the win. Record: 4-4. Next game: at home against Northview Thursday.

Newaygo 5, Lakeview 0: The Wildcats were shut out Tuesday night, getting beat by the Lions. Lucas Sweet was busy in goal for Lakeview, making 19 saves. Quote: “We had a rough first half. Newaygo was able to get a big lead.” – Lakeview coach Chris Smith. Record: 2-7. Next game: at home Thursday against Grant.


Central second at jamboree: The Green Hornets were second in a CSAA jamboree Tuesday at Chippewa Hills, as they shot 473 to Big Rapids’ 387. Ava Miller shot 115, Jillian Partlo added a 116 and Sophie Villet and Samantha Kirk each carded a 121. Quote: “Ava and Jillian shot personal bests. The team is showing improvements that will continue to lower our team scores.” – Central coach Gary Buchholz. Next match: at Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills Invitational Friday.

Belding fifth at jamboree: The Redskins shot a team score of 231 at the O-K Rainbow Conference jamboree Tuesday at Ironwood Golf Course, which hosted Grandville Calvin Christian and won by Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian with a 174. For Belding Jordan Conroe and Holly Byrne shot a 56 each, Alyviah Mason added a 58 and Allison Medema shot a 61. Next match: at Coopersville next Tuesday.
