‘Large number’ of firearms stolen from GoldStar Outdoors

BELVIDERE TOWNSHIP – A large number of firearms were stolen from GoldStar Outdoors on Wednesday night.

Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the business at 444 W. Howard City-Edmore Road (M-46) at about 10:24 p.m. They discovered the rear door of the building had been forced open and a “large number” of firearms had been stolen.

A nearby resident heard the alarm and responded to the scene. A vehicle was seen leaving the scene.

A Montcalm County Sheriff’s evidence technician and the K-9 unit assisted at the scene. A pistol was recovered that had been dropped at the scene, along with other items of evidentiary value.

The case remains under investigation.
