Greenville couple injured in plane crash

MORTON TOWNSHIP -A Greenville couple received minor injuries in a plane crash Saturday morning in Mecosta County.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Mecosta/Morton Airport at 8:11 a.m.

An airplane crash occurred when a single engine private plane was landing. The plane’s nose gear broke causing the plane to flip over.

The male pilot, 62, and his female passenger, 60, both of Greenville, received minor injuries and were treated at the scene by Mecosta County Emergency Medical Services.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) responded to the scene to investigate the crash.

The Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by Morton Township Fire and Rescue.

The accident remains under investigation.
