Well, I will be rooting for the Los Angeles Angels beginning tonight.
The AL Central leading Chicago White Sox will play their next three games against the Angels.
I would love for the Detroit Tigers to win the division without the help, but it doesn’t look like they can do it themselves.
While the pitching seems to take the brunt of the criticism, it’s the inconsistent hitting that is killing this team. It has all season.
Again, the Tigers had bases loaded — this time in the first inning — and came away with nothing. This has been a common occurance.
The Tigers outhit the Oakland A’s on Thursday until the ninth inning, but managed just four runs. They left eight on base and went 2-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
On the other hand, the A’s went 5-for-10 with RISP and left just five runners on base.
This may be the last chance for the Tigers. A sweep on both sides would put the Tigers up a game with nine to play.
Wishful thinking, maybe? But possible.
