EUREKA TOWNSHIP — Two people were transported by ambulance to Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville after suffering minor injuries from a two-car accident near Klackle Orchards earlier this afternoon.

According to Montcalm County Sheriff’s Deputy Greg Syrjala, a 45-year old woman from Rockford was driving a silver Toyota Matrix westbound on M-57 when a 32-year-old man from Indiana driving a black Chevy Monte Carlo pulled out of the Klackle Orchards customer parking lot to turn eastbound toward Greenville.

The front end of her Toyota Matrix struck the rear of his Chevy Monte Carlo as he pulled out of the parking lot.

“There was a truck that had pulled in (to the parking lot) when the Chevy pulled out of (the parking lot) in front of the (Toyota Matrix),” Syrjala said. “It was a failure to yield on the man pulling out of the parking lot.”

Syrjala said both drivers suffered minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Weather is not believed to be a factor in the accident.

“It was raining, but he just pulled out in front of her,” Syrjala said.

Michigan State Police and Montcalm County EMS assisted on scene.
