71-year-old Greenville man arrested for counterfeiting

GREENVILLE — A 71-year-old Greenville man was arrested in the 200 block of East Summit Street on Wednesday, after a police investigation regarding counterfeit $100 bills.

According to the Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office, two felony forgery warrants were obtained in connection with the passing of counterfeit bills at the Admiral North gas station and Michael’s Farm Market, both in Greenville.

The sheriff’s office used a search warrant at the 71-year-old man’s home and found evidence that supported forgery charges and additional criminal charges.

The case is still under investigation and anyone with information regarding counterfeit currency is asked to contact the sheriff’s detective bureau at (989) 831-7516.
