Lakeview 60, Evart 20: The Wildcats opened the season with a win against the other Wildcats Tuesday night. Megan Leach led Lakeview with 19 points, followed by Andrea Henry with 16 and Estelle Molitor with 14. Quote: “The girls played hard and made some nice adjustments throughout the game.” — Lakeview coach Corey Kohler. Record: 1-0. Next game: at home against Montabella next Tuesday.

Belding 67, Wyoming Godwin Heights 27: The Redskins opened the season with a convincing victory at home against the Wolverines. Katie Wood led the Redskins with 14 points. Haylee Batzer and Stefanie Harig each had 13 points. Record: 1-0. Next game: at Greenville on Friday.

Greenville 46, Reeths-Puffer 33: The Yellow Jackets opened the year with a home victory over the Rockets on Tuesday. Greenville outscored the Rockets 20-9 in the fourth quarter. Leah Somerfield led the way with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Kae Page added 15 points and Sam O’Herron six points. Taylor Baker had six assists and six steals. Quote: “Typical first game with some really good spurts followed by some not so good things. Our fourth quarter execution was very good and we did a nice job sharing the nugget and our seniors played like seniors.” — Greenville coach Eric Nichols. Record: 1-0.
