GREENVILLE — With the support of area businesses and clients keeping their electric repair and service needs local, The Service Professor, Inc., for the second consecutive year, was a top three energy saving business participating in the Consumers Energy’s Small Business Solutions Program statewide.
The Consumers Energy Business Solutions Program provides incentives for businesses that upgrade their facilities with energy efficient equipment and lighting.
The Service Professor is operated by Brad Krause and Jeff Smejkal, second-generation owners of the business that was started by their fathers, Dave Krause and Glen Smejkal in 1978. In April, they added plumbing and sewer repair to their services they offer.
The Service Professor, which employs 28 people in Greenville, received the Consumer Energy award last week at a seminar in Grand Rapids.
“We would like to thank all of our local business customers for supporting us in 2012. We have worked hard to bring smarter, more efficient, cost effective solutions to our customers and they have responded with rewarding us with their patronage.” Krause said.
Krause added the company expects a 25 percent growth in this fiscal year alone.
The Service Professor services covers Montcalm, Ionia, Kent, Ottawa, Berry and Allegan counties, but Krause added they cover every inch of the state with the Consumers Energy lighting efficiency projects.
“We have received a lot of support from businesses that are keeping things local and we know they have other choices, we appreciate that. We have always followed suit with our own purchases.” Krause said.
The Consumers Energy Small Business Solutions Program is available to all customers who receive electric or natural gas delivery service from Consumers Energy.
