GREENVILLE — After one month of investigating the Handy Market robbery in Greenville, there are still no suspects in the case.
“The Handy Market incident is still under investigation and we continue to follow up on leads that we have obtained,” said Greenville Department of Public Safety Director Michael Pousak.
The man who robbed the Handy Market was wearing jeans, a white long-sleeved shirt with a black T-shirt over it, gloves, boots and a mask.
The robbery, which occurred Dec. 6, was not the only holiday-related crime in Greenville. A purse was snatched from an elderly lady as she exited her car behind O’Conner’s Shoes. A man was chased and K-9 dogs were brought to the area, however, the suspect was never found.
“We will continue to follow up on any information obtained regarding that matter,” said Pousak of the purse snatching.
Overall, Pousak said the crime rate over the holidays was not abnormally high.
“As for the holiday season, we had a few home invasions around the Baldwin Lake area, along with some retail fraud incidents at our local stores, but overall, there wasn’t a large increase in crime during the season,” he said.
Pousak asks anyone with information about any local crimes to contact the police department at (616) 754-9161.
