Montabella 5-0: The Mustangs went undefeated to win the Lakeview Invitational on Saturday. Montabella defeated Morley Stanwood 75-11, Farwell 40-32, Lakeview 60-9, Clare 46-34 and Cedar Springs 48-30. Going 5-0 for the day was Tristan Viglianco (125) Zach Taubitz (140), Joey Durham (152), Logan Burns (160), Jonny Durham (171) and Dan Davidson (285). Wrestlers with 4-1 records were Dustin Scott (119) and Dalton Kuklewski (130). QUOTE: “We wrestled very well. We moved our lineup around to get some backups in and they performed well. Greenville wins at Parma Western: The Yellow Jackets went 4-0 at the Parma Western Invitational Saturday, beating Jackson Northwest 41-22, the host Panthers 47-18, Clinton Township Chippewa Valley 36-24 and Lake Odessa Lakewood 51-20. Winning all four of their matches were Nake Baker (112), Mike Schmitt (119), Will Parmalee (130), Alec Ward (135), Reed Cox (160), Dakota Sherrick (189), Carter Magirl (215) and Jordan Sessinger (285). Jake Hopkins (145) was the only 3-1 wrestler. QUOTE: “It was a good day. Can’t complain when you take first. Happy to come out without injuries.” — Greenville coach Paul Johnson. RECORD: 20-3. Central fifth at Parchment: The Green Hornets went 3-2 in the Parchment Invitational, getting six wrestlers with less than two losses. Most valuable wrestler Jesse Judge (189) was 5-0, including winning his 100th career match in the process. Cory Kindle (285) also was 5-0, while Tyler Rydahl (130), Jon MacDonald (145),  Dakota James (152) and Nate Jones (171) were each 4-1. Tri County third at Rockford: The Vikings were 4-1 on the day at the Rockford Team Tournament Saturday, getting four wins after losing to Otsego 52-17. Tri County beat Reed City, Portage Central, Traverse City St. Francis and Birmingham L’Anse Creuse 41-34. Jesse Britton (130) and Janson VanDyken (189) were 5-0, while Nick McGhan (103), Tommy Gilbert (112) Justyn Veneklasen (140), Ricky Kilts (215) and Austin Sprik (285) were 4-1 on the day. QUOTE: “Overall, I thought that today was the best we have wrestled and it was the most enthusiastic the team has been. Butternut Homeschoolers 78, Wyoming Homeschoolers 70: Butternut gave Wyoming its first conference loss Friday night, getting 20 points each from Josh Snyder and David Crouse. Luke Schuup added 13 and Caleb Wyman had 11 for Butternut. Kenny Vernon scored 13 of his game-high 29 points in the fourth quarter for Wyoming. RECORDS: 7-3 and 4-1. NEXT GAME: At Grattan Academy, Tuesday.
