Girls basketball

Greenville 45, Lakewood 33: The Yellow Jackets continued their winning ways with a nonconference road win on Tuesday night. Leah Somerfield helped Greenville to the win with 15 points and eight rebounds. Britta Bernth added nine points, while Kae Page had six points. Megan O’Brien and Nikota Howe each grabbed seven rebounds. The Yellow Jackets led 18-11 after the first quarter and 27-15 at halftime. Record: 8-2. Next game: at home Friday against Cedar Springs.

Montabella 53, Beal City 47: The Mustangs got 20 points from Sarah Miller and 13 from Taylor Smith in beating the Aggies Tuesday night in a nonconference matchup. Quote: “We were down by three at halftime. We scored 37 points in the second half. We ran our plays and stayed patient.” — Montabella coach Terry Larsen. Record: 5-4. Next game: at Moount Pleasant Sacred Heart Friday.

Boys basketball

Greenville 62, Lakewood 52: The Yellow Jackets used a 15-6 third quarter to beat the Vikings in a nonconference game Tuesday night. Alex Karatkiewicz had a double-double for Greenville, scoring 18 points and getting 12 rebounds. Greg Krusniak added 11 points and Parker Syrjala 10 more to the win. Record: 4-6. Next game: at home against Cedar Springs Friday.

Allendale 63, Belding 61: The Redskins lost an O-K Blue Conference game Tuesday night when the Falcons scored 35 points in the fourth quarter. Brendan Zuver had 27 points and Kole Hart 14 for Belding in the loss. Records: 3-6 and 1-3. Next game: at home against Wyoming High Friday.
