Boys basketball

Ludington 61, Tri County 44: The Vikings continued their slide, by losing to the Orioles Tuesday night for their eighth straight loss. Mitch Goerner led Tri County with 11. Records: 2-8 (1-6). Next game: at home against Muskegon Orchard View Friday night.

Butternut Homeschoolers 66, Montabella 40: Butternut had no problems with the Mustangs Tuesday night, keeping them at just one win. Josh Snyder had 21 points to lead Butternut, followed by David Crouse with 18 and Caleb Wyman with 12. Brady Burggren had 13 points and Nate Jankowsky added 11 in the loss. Records: Butternut is 10-3, Montabella is 1-9. Next games: Butternut is at Midland Homeschoolers Friday, Montabella is at home against Ashley Friday.

Girls basketball

Greenville 39, GR Union 25: The Yellow Jackets won a non-conference game against the Red Hawks Tuesday night. Kae Page had nine points and Nikota Howe added eight for Greenville, and Leah Somerfield had 15 rebounds. Record: 10-2. Next game: at Forest Hills Eastern Friday night.

Belding 54, Sparta 51 OT: The Redskins outscored the Spartans 6-3 in overtime for the O-K Blue Conference win Tuesday at home. The game was even throughout the night with no more than two points separating any quarter score between the two teams. Peyton Mount drained three three-pointers and finished with a game-high 17 points for the Redskins. Katie Wood added 12 points, while Monica Baylis added nine points and Stefanie Harig seven points. Baylis added with rebounds, while Rachel Hunt had three steals and three assists. Records: 9-4 (4-2). Next game: at Ionia Tuesday.

Big Rapids 69, Lakeview 38: The Wildcats struggled in their CSAA road game on Tuesday night against the undefeated Cardinals. Big Rapids jumped out quick and led 25-9 after the first quarter. Andrea Henry and Madison Shurlow led the Wildcats with nine point each. Kendra Enszer led Big Rapids with 18 points and eight rebounds, while Taylor Leach added 11 points and six rebounds. Records: 7-4 (5-4). Next game: at Morley Stanwood Friday.
