Boys basketball

Forest Hills Eastern 50, Greenville 49 (OT): The Yellow Jackets scored a three-pointer with six seconds left in overtime, but after missing a half-court three, the Hawks tipped in the rebound at the buzzer for the O-K Bronze Conference win Friday night. Greg Krusniak scored 15 points and Parker Syrjala added 13 for Greenville. Records: 5-7 and 1-3. Next game: at home Friday against Grand Rapids West Catholic.

Montabella 50, Ashley 34: The Mustangs picked up an MSAC win Friday night, beating the Bears at home. Nate Jankowsky scored 15 points and had five rebounds while Brady Burggren added 11 points and six rebounds to the win. Records: 2-9 and 2-3. Next game: at Fremont Providence Christian Monday.

Coleman 60, Vestaburg 54: The Wolverines’ two-game win streak was snapped by the Comets in an MSAC game Friday night. Dewayne McKinney had his second straight double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Mason Darmody and Keagan Scott added 12 points each for 43 of Vestaburg’s 54 points. Records: 2-7 and 1-4. Next game: at CC-Crystal Friday.

Muskegon Orchard View 57, Tri County 49: The Vikings lost their 10th straight game overall and sixth in the Lakes 8 Conference after losing to the Cardinals Friday night. Ryan Dailey led Tri County with 17 points. Records: 2-10 and 1-6. Next game: at Kent City Tuesday.

Butternut Homeschoolers 84, Midland Homeschoolers 47: Butternut scored at least 24 points in three of the four quarters in routing Midland in Stanton Friday night. David Crouse had 24 points, Josh Snyder had 17, Samuel Gehrke and Luke Schuup at 11 and Nathan Crawford scored 10. Record: 11-3. Next game: at Hudsonville Homeschoolers Tuesday.

Girls basketball

Greenville 49, Forest Hills Eastern 29: The Yellow Jackets used a 17-4 final quarter to pull away from the Hawks for good, winning the O-K Bronze Conference game Friday night. Nikota Howe led Greenville in scoring with 10 points and Leah Somerfield and Megan O’ Brien added nine each. Somerfield had nine rebounds and Taylor Baker added six. Quote: “Taylor Baker was very good (Friday night) on both ends of the floor.” – Greenville coach Eric Nichols. Records: 11-2 and 4-0. Next game: at home against GR West Catholic Friday.

Lakeview 58, Morley Stanwood 49: The Wildcats had no problems with the defending Class C state champions Friday night, getting a CSAA win. Andrea Henry led Lakeview with 12 points and Sadie Massey added 11 points. Records: 8-4 and 6-4. Next game: at home against Holton Tuesday.

Chippewa HIlls 53, Central Montcalm 36: The Green Hornets fell into a 17-7 hole in the first quarter and never recovered in a CSAA game Friday night. Brittany Brasington was the leading scorer for Central with nine points and eight rebounds and four other players added six each. Records: 1-10 and 1-8. Next game: at Big Rapids Friday.
