Edmore woman dies in early morning accident

Linda Gardner, 63, of Edmore died today after suffering from injuries in an early morning accident.

EDMORE — An Edmore woman died after suffering from injuries in an early morning accident.

Linda Gardner, 63, was fatally injured when her vehicle ran off the roadway on Main Street near Neff Street at about 6 a.m. Friday.

After her vehicle left the roadway, she struck a utility pole and tree.

Gardner was transported to Mid Michigan Medical Center in Gratiot County before being airlifted to St. Mary’s in Saginaw where she was pronounced dead.

Michigan State Police Trooper John Looney of the Lakeview Post said no one reported power outages and the Main Street was down to two lanes as Consumers Energy worked to repair the pole.

Michigan State Police was assisted by Home Township Fire Department and Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services.

The accident is still under investigation while troopers work to find out why Gardner left the roadway.
