CC-Crystal 54, Vestaburg 20: The Eagles picked up another MSAC win on the road over the Wolverines on Thursday night. Mikayla Duflo led the Eagles’ offensive attack with 18 points on six three-pointers. Tori Christensen finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and eight steals. Hailey Geister added 10 points. Montabella 68, Coleman 29: The Mustangs cruised at home in MSAC play on Thursday over the Comets. Montabella jumped out to a 27-7 lead after one quarter and led 41-19 at halftime. Krista Dawes led the Mustangs in scoring with 20 points. Taylor Smith nearly had a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Sarah Miller added 12 points, while Allie Ball finished with 11 points. Record: 7-5 (5-2). Next game: at home Tuesday against Farwell.
Newaygo 42, Lakeview 40: The Lions won the defensive battle on Thursday at Lakeview in CSAA play. Nate Shurlow led the Wildcats with 10 points. Record: 8-4 (7-4). Next game: at Chippewa Hills Monday.
Central 2-0 in Grandville: The Green Hornets won both of their meets at Grandville Calvin Christian, beating Lake Odessa Lakewood 40-27 and the host Squires 42-21 Wednesday night. Winning both of their matches were Logan King (103), Santiago Alvarado (112), Zach MacDonald (135/145), Trent Braman (140), Dakota James (152), Nate Jones (171), Jesse Judge (189) and Cory Kindle (285). Next meet: at Holton Saturday for the CSAA championships.
